Conferences serve as platforms for knowledge exchange and networking. Over 30 Vodafone team members from various teams and chapters seized the opportunity to attend the three-day conference, engaging in a wide array of sessions and workshops covering different technologies. Here are some thoughts from our team members who attended the event:

"I attended numerous presentations related to AI and Data. During the event, I had the chance to learn best practices from other organizations and gather ideas about different approaches to managing and developing data. I've been transferring the knowledge gained from Devoxx to my coworkers to enhance our skills. My favorite sessions were 'Exploring the Fact-based Realities of AI-Assisted Coding' and 'Creating multimodal GenAI bots leveraging Azure OpenAI models' brought by Microsoft." - Marilena, Data Engineering Chapter

"As a new developer with only one year of experience, I was initially worried about keeping up with the advanced ideas introduced at the conference. However, it turned out to be a great opportunity to explore new ideas and technologies, stay updated on Java features, learn about innovative ways to store data in a database, explore alternative Java Garbage Collectors, and discover strategies for enhancing team productivity. Additionally, it was a fantastic chance to network, update my skills, and meet coworkers in person for the first time! My favorite sessions were 'Going beyond ORMs' and 'Trash Talk - Exploring memory management in the JVM'." - Stella, API Chapter.

Vodafone Greece is revolutionizing its infrastructure with the launch of C.E.L.L., a platform rooted in TMForum's Open Digital Architecture, transitioning from monolithic systems to a microservices-based approach. The key feature of C.E.L.L. is its innovative use of Kubernetes, integrating DevOps and software engineering through Custom Resources and the Java Operator SDK. In a tech presentation, Nikos Ntemkas, API Engineer at Vodafone, covered the basic principles adopted to aid our journeys and shared lessons learned from implementing the platform.

The #VodafoneEngineering Experience

Our stand attracted more than 500 participants who interacted with our team and learned about Vodafone Engineering and our Tech Stack through activities specially prepared by our Engineers for the event.. We organized a Tech Spin showcasing key technologies our Digital Engineering chapters use. Participants answered questions related to the technology they spun to enter a draw for a cool prize. Additionally, our card game "Vodafone Engineering Combats" combined our technology and gaming spirit!
